Work Hard, Die Alone!
After 6 months moving to Jakarta and starting a hectic life as account manager handling Carrefour, it is the first week I fully enjoy my job! Yippie…! I’m not saying I don’t like my job before; it’s challenging, big responsibility, it builds the path toward more strategic position in the company and I love it so much; but I could not manage having a balance between personal and work life. That’s the biggest problem that I had.
Now, this week, I know exactly my limit and when to stop working to give more time for myself. This week I spent time with Santi and had a dinner in Samara restaurant, near Jalan Jaksa. She insisted to take me to have dinner there. Even she came to my office and never let me have a chance to say, “No, I have job now and I want to finish it.” She knows how to overcome my over-passionate character for my job. Me, Santi and Chacha, friend of Santi, had dinner there.
Samara is the historical Arabian restaurant in Jakarta. When we came into it, the Arabian ambience amazed us. The setting of the restaurant quickly interest us to spend more time here. I felt like I was a king with the wives who are always with me. Piece, San&Cha!
This Saturday I went a date with Daisy. Well, actually it was not a date, just two friends who are bored cause we did not have plan where to go on weekend and we planed deliberately to hang around. I dropped message to her, asking her whether she wanted to go anywhere and do whatever with me. She said yes, I picked up her at her house. Her dog might have known that it was not a date and it was angry with me as if it wanted to eat me. “Thanks, dog, to remind me that it’s not a date…”
We had dinner in a small restaurant called Vietopia, restaurant with Vietnamese foods. I like the restaurant already by the time I came into it. I love the foods, spicy one and never had a boring conversation with her. We talked about the past, how I changed so much by the time I handled Carrefour, how I use my shirt and pants everyday and whether it was good or not good. Simple conversation but love it so much! Having finished our dinner, we went heading south to Kemang. We stopped at a romantic French small restaurant selling ice cream and western food. We did not order the food, of course. I want to, but my stomach does not want to. Only ordered ice cream, we ate it from 1 cup! Looking at the other couples there, we realized that all of them are couple! I mean the man is the woman’s boyfriend and the woman is the man’s girlfriend. Happy for all the couples in the world! For those who have no lover for now, be happy as well! :p ( I’m trying to make myself happy and I’m motivating myself now that being single is not pathetic, and isn’t a bad thing for myself ).
I and Daisy closed the day watching Resident Evil : Distinction. This film is good. Milla Jovovic is really cool. I really love her eyebrow and her eyes, of course. So sexy and provocating men to try! Try what? You know, try to get to know her better… Having taken Daisy back to her house, I reached home at 3 in the morning.
A day after, it’s Sunday. Michael called me that he would be in Jakarta for one day before traveling to Padang. I met him at MKG, Yuli was there as well. We talked a lot about the stories when we were in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. We hahahhahehhe-ed and hoohohoho-ed so much! Nah, this time I looked at Zara, G-2000, M2, Sports Station, Planet Sport, Sogo and found so many discounted shirt, pants and shoes there. Aha, it’s fasting month and discount everywhere! Finally I brought home two bags of discounted shirt and pants from Zara, John Curtis and Executive! I love the pants I bought from Zara. It’s casual and discounted 50%! OMG, it’s a big discounted price. It’s my favorite! Having critized by Daisy about what I wear during working hours, I bought John Curtis and Executive’s shirt and pants! Well, just curious how she will react with it.
Anyway, I’m just happy this week, because, first, I successfully finished my entire job and know how to stop my job. Second, because of the great friends: Santi, Daisy, Michael and Yuli who always cheer up my life. Third, because I bought nice shirt and pants from Zara, Executive and John Curtis. Thanks papa Procter for the Lebaran bonus!
